At this year's workshop we are fortunate to hear from leading researchers working in the area of software analysis and protection in government, industry, and academia.

Saumya Debray, Professor, University of Arizona

Talk: "Information Flow Obfuscation"

Saumya Debray is Professor of Computer Science at The University of Arizona, where he has been a faculty member since August 1986. Prior to this, he received a B.Tech. (Hons.) degree in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1981; and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, in 1983 and 1986 respectively.

Saumya's research interests are primarily in the area of compilers and language implementation, focusing primarily on low-level program analysis, transformation, and optimization. He is currently working on software security and malware analysis in the context of the lynx project.

Jasper van Woudenberg, CTO North America, Riscure

Talk: "Industry Trends in Software Attack"

Jasper is Principal Security Analyst and Manager for Riscure North America. At Riscure, Jasper's expertise has grown to include various aspects of hardware security; from design review and logical testing, to side channel analysis and perturbation. Jasper has led side channel analysis workshops for Riscure customers at several government agencies and commercial clients worldwide. He has also performed similar training at BH2007 and BH2008 in Vegas, and BH2008 Amsterdam. Jasper has been an invited lecturer for the University of Amsterdam and Stanford and given talks at RSA'13, BSides'13, and Blackhat'14.

Jeremy Epstein, Program Manager, DARPA

Talk: "Secure Development After Security Bugs"

Mr. Jeremy Epstein joined DARPA as a program manager in February 2016. His technical research interests span cybersecurity, with particular interest in systems security. He was previously the lead for the National Science Foundation's cybersecurity research program. Mr. Epstein holds a B.S. in Computer Science from New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology and an M.S. in Computer Sciences from Purdue University.
